The Court of History

"The Court of History" — A docudrama by Jamshid Barzegar, based on a concept by Saeid Dehghan.

Set in a hypothetical Iran after the fall of the Islamic Republic, the film stages a court trial — built on internationally recognized fair-trial standards — of a former Islamic Republic judge accused of playing a central role in the detention, torture, and execution of countless Iranians. Through this reconstructed trial, the film asks the question every society in transition must eventually face: how do you hold the architects of repression accountable, without letting justice collapse into revenge? Blending documentary and drama, "The Court of History" puts the audience in the position of both witness and juror, wrestling with anger, grief, and the search for a just future for Iran.

Guests for the evening: Marjan Keypour will give short remarks, followed by a panel discussion with Saeid Dehghan (co-writer/producer), Mohammad Olyaeifard (cast), and Hadi Ghaemi, moderated by Siamak Aram.
